Facing your finances as an artist can be daunting and overwhelming.
Don't do it alone.
The AFSG provides workshops, individual counseling, a monthly support group, and a podcast, to help you tackle your debt.
We get it, because we live it.

Workshops
The AFSG currently gives two workshops: one for incoming students, and one for graduating artists.
Both seek to educate students about financial decisions - the first to advise them about making smart choices while in school, and the second to help artists transition into the world at large. We explain the complexities of student loans in simple terms, help students get on a budget, and empower artists to embrace the uncertainty of their professions while still making responsible fiscal decisions. Each workshop is two hours long, complete with a Q&A and discussion. Schools and institutions who schedule a workshop get a discounted price on the AFSG book, Repaid: An Artist's Guide to Student Loans & Financial Self-Advocacy by Mathew Carlson. To schedule an AFSG workshop at your university, email us at info@artistsfinancial.org.

One-on-One Sessions
The AFSG offers advice and counseling for individuals.
Contact us for one on one sessions, conducted either in person, by phone, or over Skype. Sessions are $25 per half hour. All we ask is that you fill out a short worksheet prior to the session, and let us know the specifics of your issue. Keep in mind that we are artists, not accountants. But we live the life of the artist, and would love to pass on what we have learned.

Support Group Meetings
The Artists Financial Support Group started as a safe place where artists with debt could sit together in a circle of comfortable chairs and talk. We think it is so incredibly important for artists to talk openly about their debt that we have returned to our roots and opened the circle to everyone. Each month we host a simple support group in New York City for artists with debt. Come have a cup of coffee, sit in an uncomfortable metal chair and get some things off your chest. Stop ignoring your financial problems. Don't let the stress eat you alive. The meetings are led by AFSG Vice President Timothy Sekk. For information about dates, times and location , follow us on Facebook or email Timothy at timothy@artistsfinancial.org.
The Podcast
The AFSG podcast is the brainchild of Ben Graney. Each episode takes a look at different facets of the financial lives of artists. You can listen to the podcasts for FREE in the iTunes Store. Each new episode will also shared through our social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter. So follow us!
